Dasher is looking for an innovator that understands the evolution of IT Technologies and how this is changing traditional infrastructure approaches. The Solution Architect will help to define how Dasher can increase hardware and services sales by optimizing the overall Dasher engineering strategy. This may include identifying skill gaps and resource limitations within the overall team, creating best practices for presales engagements, refining SOW formats and service delivery methods, developing the Dasher Demo lab to incorporate value that differentiates the company from the competition, and actively providing constructive feedback to department leads. As a member of the Dasher Engineering team, the Solution Architect interacts directly with business leaders to design and implement a technology solution to a business challenge.
This position provides the essential technical experience and growth opportunity to move to an Enterprise Architect role and develop the skills to become a leading subject matter expert in various technical areas.
This position will provide technical pre-sales consulting support to the direct Sales Team to determine the scope of engineering effort required throughout the sales cycle; create product comparison tables to assist account executives to qualify solutions with potential clients, create BOMs as requested by account executives; define requirements for client projects; qualify potential vendor products; design and document one or more alternative solutions to present to the client; deliver professional services such as network configuration, migration, and troubleshooting as described in a statement-of-work; demonstrate multi-vendor interoperability in the Dasher lab as needed to support client engagements and promote Dasher value to the client. The Ideal candidate will have the ability to build new go-to-market strategies that leverage the products and technologies Dasher represents.
The Solution Architect (SA) will manage an annual training and development plan that requires testing and certification from various manufactures. This will require more than 10% of the SA time. The SA will mentor Jr engineers coaching to improve presales and the technical skills. The SA will allocate the majority of time working with Dasher’s larger clients and most challenge technical efforts. More than 50% of the SA time will be operating in a presales capacity. It is critically for the SA to leverage other members of the Dasher Engineering team to effectively manage long and complex sales cycles by delegating and acting as a mentor.
You will need exceptional documentation skills that can clearly articulate technical designs, issues and constraints, procedures, and have strong analytical and problem resolution skills. A small amount of time will be allocated to client support and troubleshooting.
This position will have a focus on Datacenter infrastructure technologies. The Solution Architect must have a high level of technical experience designing and implementing Data Center solutions and complex orchestration platforms. You must understand the competitive landscape in this space and have a strong working knowledge of the market leading solutions. You must demonstrate a strong understanding of Cloud technologies, Converged and Hyper Converged Infrastructure concepts and how a client can benefits from implementing these technologies.
The Solution Architect operates in a multi-functional role often consisting of; project management, document management, architecture design, system implementation, and training. Because our Solution Architects routinely operates in a dynamic customer environment, they must feel comfortable in a highly versatile role with rapidly changing conditions. The successful Solution Architect will demonstrate:
- Solid understanding of public cloud and open source based solutions and how these options are impacting the industry
- Solid understanding of network design and implementation in data center, enterprise and ecommerce environments
- Experience with Networking protocols, IPV6, MPLS, BGP, multicast, policy-based routing, QoS, and WAN Optimization
- Hands-on experience setting up, maintaining and expanding storage networks (both NAS & SAN) in large scale distributed environments
- Experience with data replication solutions and backup products and strategies
- A deep knowledge of storage protocols including FC, iSCSI, FCoE, SAS, NFS, CIFS
- Ability to execute in a methodical manner to gather, document, and present specific customer requirements as well as articulate technical solutions
- Direct experience designing and administrating virtual server infrastructure
Technical certification required: Certified in at least one area of specialization – Cisco CCNP or CCIE, HP ASE or MASE in Networking, Juniper JNCIE-ENT, JNCIS-ENT or JNCIS-SA, Vmware VCP, NetApp NCIE or EMC EMC-IE
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in related field is desired, 8+ years of experience in related field required or 2-3 years as a Solution Engineer
Up to 20% travel is required for this position
